Oil on canvas 1/2 length oval portrait of Mrs. John W. Quincy, Lucretia Deming Perkins, (1832-1883) as a young woman, turned to the right, brown hair parted in the middle, brown eyes, wearing a white silk dress, worn off the shoulders with lace trim around neckline and short sleeves, two strand pearl choker and pearl brooch at decoulege line, painted by Charles Osgood in Salem, Mass. in 1856, when Lucretia was 24 years old.

Lucretia Deming Perkins was born in Litchfield in 1832, the son of Charles and Clarissa (Deming) Perkins. She married John W. Quincy, their daughter was Mary Perkins Quincy, her heirs donated the portrait when it was found in the attic of her house on North Street.
