Wood gavel - hand carved. Red stand on bottom of handle and on gavel head. Carved in relief on gavel head are two men's heads in profile - one in sailor outfit, clean shaven. The other in military outfit with moustache. In center is an eagle with pair of crossed cannons underneath. Underneath cannons is a flag with a star under it with "G.A.R" in center of star
