Description
Black metal box with hinged lid. Round key hole in front. Lid has metal handle in center. Box decoratively painted with lines of dull gold paint. Glued to lid of box paper - handwritten "D.G. Ambler" in large print and then next to it a deposit ticket from the First National Bank of Litchfield made out to Mr. and Mrs. D.G. Ambler for a rate of 25 cents a month. Tied to handle with string is the metal key to the box and two pieces of paper. One a small calling card with "Mr. D. Griffith Ambler" printe don one side with "Keep (illegible) box in/Litchfield bank" written above in ink. The other piece of paper is another deposit ticket from the First National Bank of Litchfield made out ot "R.A. or A.C. Liggett" and dated July 3, 1947 for a cost of 25 cents a month. Interior of box painted black.
