Description
Artist crayon or graphite drawing on off-white paper. Drawing shows two figures executed in an abstract style, with solid black forms. The figure on the right is standing near a small tree or plant, with a basket at its feet. The figure on the left is seated on a stool. At the far left is a shape with a tall upright and a crossbar, resembling a signpost. Drawing is unsigned.
Provenance
LaGardo Tackett was a ceramist, designer, and artist. In 1971, his family moved to Milton (Litchfield), Connecticut, where Tackett worked out of a studio on Headquarters Road. In 1976, he hung a solo show at the Oliver Wolcott Library featuring abstract drawings of human figures.
