Description
White cream ware pitcher with two inch spout; ear shaped handle; round flared base; ovoid body. Obverse: black transfer print of mourning woman and eagle beside General Washington's tomb. A classical cenotaph with patriotic emblems and sun rays above. Inscription: Above oval - Washington in Glory below - America in tears. George Washington Born Feb 11, 1732, Died Dec 14 1799 on tomb. Under spout, in garland circle: Revd J. Noyes below U.S. seal. Reverse in oval map of Eastern U.S. with flag, three women in classical dress: liberty, Justice, and other, Benj. Franklin seated to the right - man standing to the left. Floral swags at top of pitcher.
