Description
Reeded shell carving on center drawer above apron with knob attached. Ogee-shaped apron w/acorn drops--slender cabriole legs with pad feet. Ogee molding at rop of stand reversed on cornice top. Four graduated full-width drawers with bank of 2 small drawers at sides and 1 deep drawer in center with shell repeated.

This piece was made in Litchfield County but is very similar to highboys made in Wethersfield, CT. The maker most likely learned furniture making in Wethersfield before migrating to Litchfield County. It is considered a well preserved transitional piece.
