Description
Rectangular wooden sign with block base, sides and top board and 1/2 round frame. In rounded, raised wooden letters across length of sign "1782 PHELPS TAVERN 1911" The sign is black and the letters are painted silver.
Comment
Phelps Tavern was a hotel on the green in Litchfield. The sign adorned the building from 1911 until it was torn down in the 1930s
