Description
a) ribbon - reversible, one side blue with gold metallic fringe on end. Printed on ribbon "Litchfield Grange No. 107 (image of hands shaking) Litchfield, Conn". Overlaying the blue ribbon is a piece of red, white and blue vertically stripped ribbon. Button at end, round with metal edge, white enamel center, image of plow, sheaf of wheat, and several other farming tools. Arching over vinyette written "Patrons of Husbandry" At top of ribbon is a rectangular shaped bracket, gold metal rim with white enamel interior. Pair of flags with poles crossed in center. Capital "P" on one side and "H" on other. Back of bracket is large metal pin with arched clasp to hold pin in place. Back side of ribbon is black, printed in silver lettering "In Memoriam/Litchfield Grange/No. 107/Litchfield, Conn." Top of reversible ribbon has pocket sewn in to it. Pocket threaded through with metal bar which rests on a clasp. When released from clasp, the ribbon can slide off of the bar and be reversed, so either black or blue ribbon faces outward. B) Original envelope. Paper with string attached to back for closure. Across front of envelop, in addition to manufacturing information, "If you wish to keep your badge in good order, keep it on the card board and in this envelope"
