Description
White ribbed silk with different sprays of flowers embroidered on; heavy stiff material; empire style with high waist; short straight puff sleeves; open front with 2 drawstrings - one at top and one at bottom of chest; high side slit for pocket; front of skirt straight; back pleated; back bodice; false belt; 2 fabric cockade buttons

fabric is from late 18th century - probably used in an early dress which was cut down to remake this new dress in the current style of the day; shows transition between style of late 18th century and early 19th century
