Description
Leather hat box lined with red silk. Downward curving top and leather handle with brass buckles at either end. Two leather straps on either side of the hat box fasten in the buckles. Central leather strap running from lid to front of box, with brass fastener at the end; attaches to lock on front of box, just above key hole. Two interior straps, also with buckles. Side of box reads "C.S.H", and central strap has embossed lettering "Collins & Fairbanks."

Accession record indicates the box initially contained a top hat and an opera hat.
