Description
Leather hat box lined with quilted and padded red silk. Downward curving top with leather straps and brass fittings, leather handle on top. Multiple remnant of shipping or transport stickers on the exterior. On either side is an "M" within a red border. Yellow elastic strap attached inside case. Box label reads "WOODROW/42 CORNHILL/LONDON."
Provenance
Owned by donor's father, Carroll Miller, who bought it around 1900 before traveling extensively. He worked for a time at Osaka Gas Works in Japan, as an engineer.
