Description
Rectangular veil of white handkerchief linen with 1 1/4" hem hand stitched with cotton thread on all sides. In center of the long side a white cotton patch has been stitched on. In center is a Red Cross made with red linen.
Comment
Belonged to Mrs. Shepard Knapp during her Red Cross service. Mrs Knapp describes her service and founding of the Litchfield Chapter of the Red Cross in her book of "Recollections & Letters"
