Description
Square metal tape measure made for UOP, Aerotherm Division, Bantam, Connecticut. Brushed silver metal on five sides, with black plastic top; metal tape extends through slot in plastic. On the front, printed in black, is an image of two airline seats with text "AEROTHERM DIVISION/ UOP" set within black border.

Comment
The Aerotherm Corporation began as the Warren McArthur Corporation, which manufactured furniture and ultimately airline seating in Bantam. Warren McArthur Closed in 1948, becoming the Aerotherm Corporation in 1950 and Aerotec Industries in 1958. The Aerotherm Division was sold to Universal Oil Products (UOP) in 1964, continuing until 1970, when it was renamed the Aerospace Division.
