Description
Handbell used at Bantam School. Turned wood handle tapering toward base, stained or painted black. Brass cap at top of handle. Handle attached to brass bell with iron clapper.
Provenance
Bell belonged to Robert F. Reynolds, principal at Bantam School (beginning in 1952), then Center School, and lastly at the Litchfield Junior High School (1968-1982). The bell dates from when Reynolds was at the original Bantam School building (1952-1956); Reynolds continued as principal at the new Bantam School.
