Description
Brown leather boots, possibly World War II era. Leather sole tacked down with wooden pegs. Boots lace up front to ankle and then have metal hooks for laces to catch on. Tongue connected to sides of boots. Unlined.
Provenance
Donated with military uniform items belonging to Edward H. Raymond Jr. (World War I) and Edward A. Raymond (World War II), both of Litchfield, Connecticut. Donor's correspondence lists a pair of officer's lace boots for field artillery, worn in Tunisia by Edward A. Raymond while serving with French XIX Corps.
