Description
Single breasted, no collar, 11 wooden buttons covered with like fabric and stitching. Front edges are embroidered with running vines and flowers in pink, green, lavender, and blue. Pocket flaps have similar flowers and baskets. Front is lined with silk, back is of linen.
Comment
This waistcoat belonged to Oliver Wolcott (1726-1797), who wore it to George Washington's second inauguration. Given to LHS by direct descendant of Governor Wolcott.
