Description
A: Crescent-shaped black felt hat with trim along outer edge. Front emblem of gold metal. On either side of emblem are strips of material that are the same as the trim. Each side has hanging tassle of gold coiled metal. In top of hat is plume holder of gold metal. Red feather plume fits in here. B: Paper & cardboard, red, green, blue

Supposed to have belonged to General John Mason, first lieutenant-governor of CT Colony and commander of the colonial forces during the Pequot War which would date it as 17th C.
