Description
Advertising thermometer produced for The Litchfield Savings Bank. Rectangular metal thermometer with slightly curved edges. Pressed tin, painted white, with yellow and green decoration in two places showing yellow flowers and green butterflies. In black text at top, "THE/LITCHFIELD/SAVINGS BANK." Glass thermometer underneath with printed text, F at left (-60 to 120) and C at right (-50 to 50). Reverse is unpainted metal.
Comment
Founded in 1850 as The Litchfield Savings Society, the name was changed in 1952 to The Litchfield Savings Bank. Since 1984, it has operated as Litchfield Bancorp.
