Description
Small oval portrait miniature in gold frame under glass. Portrait executed in watercolor and shows an older woman with brown hair. Sitter wears a white cap, black dress, and white ruffle collar.
Provenance
This portrait miniature belonged to the Fisher family who lived in the Sheldon Tavern in Litchfield, CT.
Comment
This portrait miniature is a copy of an original oil portrait of Mrs. Thomas Collier painted around 1825. The original portrait (1929-06-2) is also in the collection of the Litchfield Historical Society.
