Square textile fragment with appliqued beadwork. Stiff white cotton fragment containing two separate patterns of black jet (gemstone) beads attached with a basting stitch. The patterns are mirror image, likely meant for a mourning cape or cloak. The cotton features a printed pattern number "3607" and numerous pencil markings, likely indicating that it was purchased from a store.
