Description
A - Inkstand with embossed leather decoration. Floral motifs on all four sides, with the front depicting a four-pointed motif and the other sides groupings of four individual floral motifs, all in gold. Floral border decoration throughout inkstand. At the top, inkstand has a 2" by 2" square opening, lined with yellow cotton fabric, 1.25" deep. Front of inkstand is curved upwards to form a lip, likely to hold a pen. "Made in Italy" stamp on bottom, with sticker reading "B. Altman & Co./New York/467/308/1/690." B - Square glass inkwell, with thick cut glass walls and bronze or copper hinged lid.
