Description
Hand-painted poster on paper. Poster depicts a line of ships sailing towards a sandy beach through a blue ocean. "1902" painted in a red rectangle in top left corner. A rock sits on the beach at the point where the sand and water meet. "LOAN/ EXHIBITION/ COLONIAL/ TEA/ DAR" painted in black letters on separate pieces of paper have been pasted across the middle and bottom of poster. A stylized vine in blue scroll cuts from left to right across bottom of page. Red polka dots sporadic on lower left portion. Teacup in white and blue across bottom. "E.N.V. signed in black paint in lower right.

This poster was painted by local resident, Emily Noyes Vanderpoel, to promote an exhibition hosted by the Litchfield Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution in 1902.
