Chromolithographed WWI poster designed by L.A. Shaffer and published by W.F. Powers Co. Litho. NY. Full sheet poster shows a naval scene of American warships capturing a German U-boat. The U-boat is in the foreground of the scene and has three men aboard. Three American warships are seen in the background. the words "THEY KEPT THE/ SEA LANES/ OPEN" are printed in black across the sky in the upper right hand corner. "INVEST IN THE/ VICTORY LIBERTY LOAN" is printed in large, bold black letters across the bottom of the poster.
