Description
Cast iron mechanical bank featuring an eagle and two eaglets in a nest. Oval base sculpted to resemble a birds' nest, on which stands an eagle and two eaglets. The lever on the right of the base lowers the large eagle's beak and body down to the eaglets, who rise from the nest and ope their beaks. Some green and brown paint remains on the base. Marked underneath "PAT JAN 23/1883" with a separate patent mark of "PATD FEB 2 1875" on a circular metal disk. Numerous holes in the bottom plate. Coin slot is underneath the eaglets.
