Oil on cardboard, probably painted over a photograph, of a middle aged woman, Charlotte Bellamy Monroe. Bust portrait in an oval frame, dressed in formal off the shoulder lavender gown with elaborate lace bodice. Brown hair worn in a bun, blue/green eyes. Label on back "Prepared Mill-Board/Windsor & Newton/artists' colourmen/to Her Majesty/and to His Royal Highness the Prince Consort/38, Rothbone Place, London, W."

Charlotte Bellamy Monroe was the daughter of Rev. Joseph H. Bellamy of Bethlehem, the owner of the Bellamy-Ferriday House, and the wife of the Rev. Nathaniel Wolson Monroe.
