Description
Brass traveling inkwell and pen holder case. Oval cylindrical form, in two parts. Smaller half fitted with inkwell and two holes for short quills. Base of one half engraved with the name: "FOSTER". Decorated with incised line bands spaced at quarter intervals along the body.
Comment
An example of a traveling inkwell that might have been used by a Law School student. There were 3 students with the name "Foster" that attended the school, two of which were from Boston, Mass. Mary Perkins Quincy had connections and relations from Boston and possibly someday a connection can be confirmed or denied.
