Description
Red leather wallet. Minimal tooling decoration on outside of wallet. Two folds - the first is an outside long shaped flap which is inserted in a band on the outside. The inside has a double accordian pocket lined with marblized paper. The back of the wallet also has a single pocket. Sewed between pockets is a memorandum book consisting of five alternate leaves of paper and four leaves of stiff cardboard/paper which is black on both sides. Two pages have Oliver Wolcott's handwriting

Oliver Wolcott (1726-1797) was a signer of the Decleration of Independence and a Governor of CT. He lives on South Street in Litchfield. The donor is his granddaughter and lived in the Wolcott house during her lifetime.
