Photograph printed on piece of oval glass. Image of young woman with brown hair and brown eyes. Hair parted in middle and pulled back behind head. She has on a dark dress with white lace collar and gold brooch at her throat. The photograph is hand painted.
Provenance
Lucretia Deming Perkins (1832-1883) was the daughter of Clarissa Deming and Charles Perkins, and granddaughter of Julius Deming.
Comment
Sitter originally listed as Clarissa Deming Perkins. After comparison to another photograph of Lucretia Deming Perkins, 1950-01-48, the attribution of this photograph was changed. Clarissa Deming Perkins also died in 1837, well before the photograph's c.1850 date.
