Description
Ivory wedding gown. Three quarter length sleeves with lace trim at cuff. Bodice has two layers - satin layer with V neckline and layer of lace underneath it with high neckline. Lace sash drapes across right shoulder to left side over to back of dress. Sewn over lace on right side is a floral shaped ornament (like a pin) with white beads and faux pearls hanging from it. Another similar ornament is attached at center of V neckline. On the left is an ornament made of strings of beads looped in floral form with thick beaded ropes with pearls draping over left shoulder. Another ornament at waistline and two more further down front. Empire like waistline and A line shaped skirt. Short train in back with lace sash extending to bottom of skirt on right side of train. Four ornaments along sash.
Comment
The dress was worn by the donor's grandmother, Katherine Conway, on her wedding to Martin Moragpah at St. Anthony's Church in Litchfield in October 1912.
