Description

Cup (A) has ring base with concave stem and gilt line. Fancy ear handle with gilt. Flared rim. Body has gilt bands with red roses and gold leaves in a continuous chain. Interior is 3/4 gilt. Gilt circle in the bottom of the cup. Saucer (B) has ring base with straight sides and flared rim. Thick and thin gilt line on rim with gild leaf band and pink rose with gilt trefoil beneath. Gilt band in center and at edge . Both cup and saucer belonged to "The Rose of Sharon," Mrs. Frederick Augustus Tallmadge.
