Description
Glass milk bottle with round lip top, circular bottom, and tapered sides. Half pint. Embossed lettering on front, "WALKER-GORDON/LABORATORY/REGISTERED" with image of milk bottles in a carrier. Embossed lettering on back, "MASS/SEAL/T, HALF PINT" and "MTG" on bottom. Impressed circle on bottom with illegible lettering in center.

Comment
Walker-Gordon began in Boston in 1891 as a laboratory for modifying milk to exceed all health standards of the time. In 1897, they purchased farmland in New Jersey to produce their own milk, labeled as "Guaranteed Milk" and later "Certified Milk." The company became the world's largest producer of certified milk in the 1940s, and ceased dairy operations in 1971.
