Hat Box

Rectangular cardboard hat box, tan with brown border at bottom of box and rim. On the shorter sides of the rim it says in brown "F. R. Tripler & Co./New York/NY" and on the longer "Gentlemen's Hats for Any Occasion." In the center of the lid is a rectangle with a brown border of four lines, getting thinner towards the inside. Centered in the border in brown text, "F. R. Tripler & Co./Madison Avenue at Forty Sixth Street/New York." Above this is a circle with a griffon standing above a scroll reading "Esse Quam Videri." This same circle is on the longer sides of the box. The shorter sides have a circle with "1886" in it surrounded by an arc that reads "Established" with a short scroll on either side.

Accession record indicates the box initially contained two fedoras.
