            Description
                Pressed glass medicine bottle. Wide, rounded shoulders; short neck, slight rim, and narrow opening for a cork stopper. Bottle is wide, but narrow in depth. Embossed lettering on one side, under neck, "ONE PINT." Paper label affixed on opposite side. Label reads "THE WHEELER DRUG CO. INC." set in black banner, with black text underneath, "WEST MAIN ST., LITCHFIELD/CONN./R.J. SEPPLES, REGISTERED PHARMACIST" with lines underneath for doctor and prescription information.

                Removed along with other items from Murphy's Pharmacy on West Street, Litchfield, after the business closed in 2019. 
            Comment
                Murphy's Pharmacy began as the Marley Pharmacy, opened by William Marley after the left the business partnership of Crutch & Marley located farther up West Street. The pharmacy was purchased by Joseph Murphy sometime between 1948 and 1951.
