Description
33 star American flag. Wool. Stars and stripes printed or dyed directly onto fabric. White canvas edge on one side. Two metal grommets - one on each end of canvas edge. Small brass rings sewn along outside edge of canvas edge. Written in ink on canvas edge "Noyes/North Street"
Comment
According to the accession book this flag was carried by the 2nd Connecticut Heavy Artillery Regiment (active 1863-1865) in the Civil War. It was given to the Regiment by the Regimental Association. Possibly one of the flags presented by Julia Tallmadge Noyes (Mrs. William Curtis Noyes) to the 19th CT prior to their departure from Camp Dutton in Litchfield
