Description
Appliqued patchwork crazy quilt. Various random patches, some embroidered with animals, (owls, cats, dogs) plant material, an anchor, a shaving mug and razor. Also with painted flowers: daisies, bluets and cornflowers. Bound with brown velvet. Backed with purple silk brocade. Stitched into quilt "1886 1890/Gertrude Plumb Litchfield/CT" There is also a silk badge sewn into quilt "Seth F. Plumb/Post No. 80/G.A.R./1st Annl./CLAM BAKE/Aug. 26, 1886"
