Pressed glass medicine bottle, clear glass, squared shoulders with beveled corners. 1" neck with flat rim; mold lines visible. Embossed lettering on front, "WESSELLS & GATES/DRUGGISTS/LITCHFIELD, CONN." Embossed lettering on bottom, "W.T. & Co./R."
Provenance
Wessells & Gates was a pharmacy/druggist in Litchfield between 1888 and 1819. The pharmacy opened on the corner of South and West streets sometime after the fires in 1888. It was replaced by Crutch’s Pharmacy.
