Description
Double sided banner. Blue silk on both sides. One side has embroidered image of palm tree in silk thread with millfoire grass and motto "Virescat" with dates "1807-1850" on birron bordered in gold thread with red reverse face at bottom. On reverse side image of eagle with wings outstretched standing on a shield with 13 stars. Seven red and white stripes embroidered in silk thread with the initials "WSG" embrodiered in gold silk on the shield. A red banner edged with gold with the word "Eutaw" in white and a hunting horn complete the central motif. "Washington Light Infantry" on a ribbon with red reserve is embroidered in gold silk. Banner has white silk fringe on three sides.

The Washington Light Infantry (WLI), organized in 1807 in Charleston, SC, is one of the nation's oldest militia units. The Corps was named in honor of George Washington. Since 1807, the Washington Light Infantry has participated as a unit exhibiting honor and bravery in every major war this country has fought. www.washingtonlightinfantry.org
