Description
Large square painted wooden trade sign, 2 1/2" plain raised molding around the edge, rounded corners, painted with sky blue background, large black horseshoe with "VISIT" printed above it in black paint, inside ring of horseshoe in white "OUTDOOR TRADERS" inside shoe, black silhouette image of an Indian holding fur pieces and a Western Trader holding beads and a gun. Below in yellow paint: "AT THE/SMITHY/LITCHFIELD"

Outdoor Traders was a woman's clothing and accessory shop which was located in Cobble Court in the building that was originally a blacksmith shop, later a bookshop and currently a furniture gallery. The store c. 1950, moved to the Litchfield Firehouse in 196? then became "Tweeds & Tees" and closed 1988.
