Comment
There was a William H. Thompson living in Litchfield at various points in the first half of the 19th century. He was a member of the central committee for the county's centennial celebration, and earlier played a role in the case of William Grimes, a runaway slave living in Litchfield who successfully purchased his freedom in the 1820s. Thompson, noted as living in Georgia at the time, served as agent for Grimes' former owner.
