Description
Silhouette of woman playing harp. She is wearing an evening gown and her hair is curled and piled on her head. Signature of artist in lower left hand corner. Original black wood frame. Small band of gold around glass. Hook drilled into top of frame with metal ring attached for hanging. Large label across back of picture - at top two crests, one with "Cranston" underneath it and one with "Fenner" underneath it. Written underneath seals "Cranston Fennder Studio, Litchfield, Conn., Famous for its beautiful sculpture in Bas-Relief Presents Alice Cranston Fenner's signed originals in Framed Silhouettes. This Connecticut artist draws subjects of human interest and her character studies are often inspired by people and animals about her. Her versatility of design appeals to all ages and is contributing much to American Home life today. (copyrighted 1950 by alice cranston fenner)"
