Description
Rectangular ceramic nameplate with engraved lettering, "ROBERT W. DOYLE/REGISTERED PHARMACIST/MANAGER." White ceramic with black overlay on each side, set in silver stand.
Provenance
Robert Doyle worked as a pharmacist at Crutch & MacDonald before buying the business in 1961 and continuing as manager, owner, and pharmacist until 1994. Doyle's father owned a pharmacy in Torrington, where his brother worked. When the Torrington pharmacy closed, Doyle opened Crutch & MacDonald Medical Equipment, also on West Street.
